Noticing BitLocker Recovery Issues on Dell Laptops?

Has anyone else been experiencing a notable increase in BitLocker recovery screens on their Dell laptops during boot? Interestingly, if you choose to skip the recovery prompt and restart the laptop, it typically boots normally without needing recovery. I'm curious if there was a BIOS update from Dell or Microsoft that might have triggered this problem. Just looking for insight from others who might have noticed similar issues.

Honestly, saying it's just Dell laptops isn't quite right. This problem seems to be widespread—I've seen it on Lenovo, HP, and even Surface devices. None are safe from it!

I've noticed it happening on my Lenovo P series laptops as well.

We've had several Lenovo devices do the same thing. The BitLocker recovery window times out, and then the device restarts straight back to the login screen.

I find that my Lenovo ThinkPads often act up like this when the battery drains to 0% for a week. Makes me wonder if the TPM relies on the laptop battery rather than a CMOS battery.

Yeah, we've definitely seen this happening too. After the recent BIOS updates via Dell Command Update, BitLocker isn’t re-enabling properly. A power cycle usually fixes the problem. Honestly, it's an easy KPI to track, though frustrating.

I wish it were that easy for me! A colleague faced this issue today, and even after multiple reboots and selecting 'skip', it was still a no-go. Super annoying!

I've come across this a few times recently. When I selected skip, I managed to reboot successfully, thankfully.

Not too recently, but a few months back, a lot of systems were showing this issue. Back then, it seemed like a specific Windows update was triggering it for a select few devices.

Absolutely! This isn’t limited to Dell laptops; I've seen a huge uptick across all brands this year. A reboot seems to work each time, but it's still a hassle.

I bet they aren't even using AI for proper QA—just shipping the code and letting us do the testing!

For sure! I've run into this issue three times just today, on top of some glitches with 365 accounts that required re-joining Entra.

Yep, it's all over the place! Dell has been pushing out BIOS updates a lot recently, so it feels like it's just a numbers game—more updates lead to more potential issues.
