Pacman update blocked by an audit dependency mismatch

I'm using CachyOS and recently started getting this error when running `sudo pacman -Syu`: `error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)` `:: installing audit (4.2.1-1.1) breaks dependency 'audit=4.1.4' required by lib32-audit` I checked my `/etc/pacman.conf` and the relevant lines don't appear to be commented out. I also refreshed my mirrors with reflector in case they were out of sync, but the dependency error remains. Is this something I can fix locally, or do I need to wait for the repositories to catch up?

This looks like a repository dependency mismatch: `audit` has been updated, but `lib32-audit` still requires the older exact version. These inconsistencies can happen briefly while packages are being pushed or synchronized. Itโ€™s generally best to wait for the package maintainers or mirrors to publish matching versions, then run the full system update again.

MellowCedar47: That makes senseโ€”thanks for clarifying. Iโ€™ll avoid forcing anything and try the update again once the repositories have synchronized.

I wouldnโ€™t force-remove `lib32-audit` just to get the update through. Package names arenโ€™t versioned, so reinstalling it may not solve an exact-version dependency mismatch, and removing packages during a partial update can create additional problems. Keep the system update intact and retry after the repository metadata and packages have caught up.
