My dad accidentally switched off the surge protector while plugging in another device a few days ago. I switched it back on, but my PC has been completely unresponsive ever since. Pressing the power button to discharge stored electricity didn't help, and I've unplugged and reconnected all the cables. The monitor and printer on the same surge protector still work. I also tested the computer with other surge protectors and wall outlets, but there are no lights, fans, RGB, or motherboard LEDs. What could have failed, and what should I check next?

First, make sure the surge protector itself is switched on and check whether its reset button or breaker has tripped. Since other devices work and the PC also fails on different outlets, the protector and outlet probably aren’t the issue. Try bypassing it completely with a known-good wall outlet and remove all USB devices and other external connections.
A brief interruption normally shouldn’t damage a healthy PC, but a failing or unprotected power supply can die when power is cut or restored. Disconnect the PC from power, hold the case power button for about 15 seconds, reconnect it directly to the wall, and check that the motherboard’s 24-pin and CPU power connectors are firmly seated. Don’t open the PSU itself; replace or professionally test it if there’s still no response.
If there are no fans, lights, or motherboard standby LEDs at all, the power supply is the main suspect. A power cable or the PSU’s rear switch could also be at fault, so test with a known-good cable and confirm the switch is set to on. If those checks don’t change anything, the PSU may have failed and should be tested or replaced.
I tried several outlets and surge protectors, including removing the other peripherals. The computer still shows absolutely no signs of power.
