I bought this PC about a week ago, and it completely shuts down roughly five minutes after I start playing a game. It has happened with three different games, while browsing and doing regular desktop work is completely fine. The system uses a Ryzen 7 7800X3D, RTX 5070 Ti, B850M motherboard, 850W power supply, and Windows 11. CPU temperatures are around 65°C and GPU temperatures around 50°C during use, so it does not appear to be overheating. I reseated the PC and GPU power cables, but the problem continues. Event Viewer only shows Kernel-Power Event ID 41 and Event ID 6008, indicating an unexpected shutdown. What should I check next to determine whether this is a power supply, cable, BIOS, or hardware problem?

Monitor temperatures with a logging tool while gaming, including CPU package, GPU hotspot, and, if available, motherboard or VRM readings. The temperatures you reported look normal, so overheating is not the leading suspect, but logging can confirm what happens immediately before the power cuts. Do not rely on a basic voltage reading alone to prove that the PSU is healthy; swapping in a known-good compatible PSU or having the retailer test the machine is more reliable.
Event IDs 41 and 6008 mainly confirm that Windows lost power or shut down unexpectedly; they usually do not identify the faulty component. Since the temperatures are normal and the system is only shutting off under gaming load, power delivery is a strong possibility. Check that the GPU power connector is fully inserted, that the original PSU cables are being used, and that no cable is loose or sharply bent near the connector.
An 850W supply should generally be enough for those components, but the exact PSU model and its ability to handle GPU power spikes still matter. A failing or defective unit can shut the whole PC off without producing a useful Windows error. Since the computer is only a week old, contact the system builder or store and ask them to test the PSU, GPU, motherboard, and cabling rather than continuing to troubleshoot it extensively yourself.
You can also check whether the motherboard has a newer stable BIOS version and confirm that the chipset and graphics drivers are current. Before changing BIOS settings, take note of the current configuration and avoid increasing voltages or enabling overclocking. If the shutdown still happens with default settings, that makes a hardware or power-delivery fault more likely.
