My Pixel 10 connects to Android Auto normally in my 2020 Highlander, but my 2018 Civic suddenly only recognizes it as a charging device. It worked in the Civic last week, and my wife's phone still connects without any trouble. I've tested three different USB cables, cleared Android Auto's cache, restarted both the phone and the car's head unit, and even factory-reset the Pixel. I also removed the phone from the car and forgot the car in the phone's Bluetooth settings. What else can I try to restore the data connection?

If the Civic supports wireless Android Auto, testing a wireless adapter or another wireless connection could help determine whether the problem is limited to the car’s USB data connection. Since the phone works in your Highlander and your wife’s phone works in the Civic, the issue may be an incompatibility between this Pixel and the Civic’s older head unit rather than a defective phone.
Try completely removing every previously paired phone and saved Bluetooth profile from the Civic, not just your Pixel. Then delete the Civic from the Pixel’s Bluetooth and Android Auto device lists, restart both devices, and pair them again from scratch. Some head units keep an old phone record that can interfere with a new USB connection.
