Playing a USB Video on My iPhone: Need Advice

Hey everyone! I have a USB thumb drive that has my daughters' ballet recital saved on it, and I'm trying to figure out how to play it on my iPhone. If I get a USB-C to USB-A adapter and connect the thumb drive to my phone, will the phone recognize the drive and let me play the video? My plan is to cast it to the TV afterward. Do I need any additional hardware or software to make this work? Thanks in advance!

You should be good to go with that adapter! Once you plug in the USB drive, it should pop up in the Files app on your iPhone, and you can play the video from there. Just make sure that the format of the video is compatible with iOS. No extra software should be necessary for basic playback!
