I'm putting together a compact Lian Li A3 gaming PC and already own several of the parts. It will mainly be used for gaming for up to about five hours per week, with little other heavy use. My priorities are keeping the system quiet and avoiding unnecessarily high temperatures. I've built PCs before, but it has been a while, so I'd appreciate a sanity check on the component choices and airflow setup.
Planned parts:
- Intel Core i7-14700K, power-limited to 175W
- GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super Windforce OC 16GB
- Noctua NH-U12S CPU cooler
- Corsair Dominator 32GB DDR5-7200 CL34
- Gigabyte B760M Aorus Elite WIFI6E GEN5 motherboard
- Corsair SF850 power supply
- Crucial P310 1TB SSD
- Five Arctic P12 Pro PST fans: three bottom intakes, one rear exhaust, and one top exhaust
Are there any compatibility, cooling, memory, or airflow concerns I should address before finishing the build?

A contact frame for the LGA1700 socket may be worth considering. The 14700K can run hot, even with a power limit, and a contact frame can sometimes improve cooler contact and temperatures. It isn’t mandatory, but it could help if you see uneven temperatures or the chip is still running hotter than expected.
Since you already have the cooler, check whether it includes the correct LGA1700 mounting hardware. If it doesn’t, Noctua provides the appropriate mounting kit at no charge. It’s worth confirming before starting the build.
Great, thanks! I’ll check whether the mounting kit was included and order one if necessary.

Is the stock integrated heat spreader really enough of a problem to justify adding a contact frame? I’m wondering whether the difference would be noticeable in a lightly used gaming system.
