Random Stutters with Nvidia 4070 Ti Super: Any Fixes?

Hey everyone! I recently built a gaming rig with the following specs: 32GB RAM, an AMD 7700x processor, and a GIGABYTE 4070 Ti Super, all running on Windows 11. I've been experiencing some frustrating random FPS drops while playing certain games, causing brief freezes or stutters that last between 1 to 3 seconds. It's really puzzling because other games like Destiny 2, Helldivers 2, and Battlefield 2042 run perfectly fine. However, titles like Mad Max and AC Unity have been notorious for these random drops, and I've noticed these issues often happen in specific environments within the game. I've tried tweaking my MSI motherboard settings and have reinstalled Nvidia drivers using DDU, but it seems like the problems might've worsened since then. Could this potentially be a driver issue? Has anyone else encountered similar stutters in older games? And should I be doing anything specific in terms of API settings? On a side note, I did recently uninstall and reinstall the AMD chipset drivers, but I'm still facing the same issues. Any insights would be appreciated!

It sounds like a frustrating experience! First off, get some logs from HWInfo to check if anything is overheating or getting overloaded. The freezes you're describing might happen randomly, so monitoring your system health could provide some clues. Also, ensure your BIOS and firmware are updated and consider cleaning your Windows install if issues persist. Remember, for your AMD setup, the XMP profile is known as EXPO; you might want to look into that. Just a heads-up, your 7700x may bottleneck the 4070 Ti a bit. Best of luck!

Thanks for the reply! I appreciate the tips. I’m planning to check for overheating and do a clean install of Windows soon. I'll keep an eye on those settings too!
