Rattling Noise from Power Supply Unit – Any Fixes?

Asked By GamerGuy1234 On

I recently bought a pre-built gaming PC, and I've noticed it making a rattling sound coming from the power supply unit (PSU). This started about 1-2 months after my purchase. The noise seems to quiet down or stop when the fan starts spinning. I'm looking for advice on what might be causing this noise and how to fix it. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

It sounds like you might be dealing with a faulty PSU, especially since it's making noise right out of the box. If it's still under warranty, I'd recommend you send it back. It's definitely not worth risking further issues. Plus, since it's pre-built, the return process should be easier!

Totally agree! 1-2 months is well within warranty, so definitely take it back. You’ll have peace of mind knowing it’s sorted.

If you're feeling adventurous and okay with potentially voiding the warranty, you could try taking the PSU out and checking it out yourself. Just be careful!
