Recommendations for a Compact CPU Cooler for a Ryzen 7 5800X

I'm currently using a Ryzen 7 5800X, but the air cooler I have from my previous Ryzen 5 3600 is struggling to keep things cool. I need a new CPU cooler that fits in my small case, which has a maximum height of 157mm. I want to ensure there's some clearance in case my RAM is too tall. I'm considering the THERMALRIGHT Assassin King 90 (height: 125mm, priced at $35) or the THERMALRIGHT Assassin Spirit 120 Vision (height: 154mm, priced at $45). My instinct leans towards the King 90, but I'm unsure if it can adequately cool my CPU. Which cooler do you think I should choose, or do you have any other suggestions that would fit my case?

I'd recommend the THERMALRIGHT Assassin King 90! It has 5 heat pipes which should provide good cooling performance. Just keep in mind that you may need to check how it fits with your RAM if any are particularly tall. I have the Burst Assassin, and I had to slightly offset the fan for my RAM slot to fit, so just something to think about!

That makes sense! I was worried about whether I'd have enough space. Good to know about the heat pipes too!

If you're sticking with Thermalright, any of their coolers should work fine. They've got solid performance, and even the single tower models can cool a 5900X well. Just check their website for options available to you.
