I'm looking to host my personal projects alongside my portfolio website, and I want to find the best platforms to handle everything together. I previously used Render for one of my projects, but quickly ran out of free hours, which led to all services being suspended despite just hosting one project. I'm hoping to find platforms where I can effectively host 3-4 personal projects, 1-2 projects requiring both frontend and backend support, and my portfolio website. Ideally, I'd like to avoid any expenses, but if necessary, keeping costs low is important. Any suggestions or strategies would be greatly appreciated!

For your portfolio website, you might try GitHub Pages or GitLab Pages—they're free and pretty solid for that. For your personal projects, a VPS is usually a good route, but if you're looking for something simpler, Vercel could work well depending on your tech stack. Also, putting some sample code on GitHub with mock JSON can help since you might not need to worry about a backend for most recruiters who won't look too deep!

That's a clever idea! I think I’ll try Netlify for the frontend and Railway for the backend, since Railway's free tier seems much better than Render's. Plus, that mock JSON strategy is smart—most recruiters won't look into the details anyway!
