Samsung Galaxy S8 Keeps Restarting After Reaching the Lock Screen

My Samsung Galaxy S8 starts normally and reaches the lock screen, but after a second or two it shuts off and immediately begins starting up again. It keeps repeating this cycle, and letting the battery drain completely has not fixed it. I'm not very experienced with technology and can't afford to replace the phone, so I'm hoping there's a repair or troubleshooting step I can try first.

You can also try the recovery menu and choose โ€œWipe cache partition.โ€ This should clear temporary system files without deleting your personal data. Be careful not to select a factory reset unless youโ€™ve backed up anything important, because that option erases the phone.

This sounds like a boot loop. Since draining the battery didnโ€™t help, try starting the phone in Safe Mode to see whether a recently installed app is causing it. Turn the phone off, then power it on and hold the Volume Down button while it starts. If it stays on in Safe Mode, uninstall any apps you added shortly before the problem began.

A failing battery or charging problem can also cause repeated restarts. Try a different charging cable and wall adapter, and leave the phone charging for a while before trying again. If it still loops even in recovery mode or Safe Mode, the battery or another hardware component may need repair.
