My Philips monitor stopped displaying anything after Windows 11 updated today. It's connected by HDMI to an Asus TUF Gaming A15 laptop. I've already unplugged and reconnected the HDMI and power cables, restarted the laptop several times, checked for graphics driver updates, and tried Windows + Ctrl + Shift + B to reset the graphics driver. None of that helped. I'm not completely sure of the monitor's exact model, but it looks similar to a Philips V-line 271V8AW. The brightness control also seems broken—the slider moves, but the screen brightness does not change. Has anyone found a fix for this?

Since the basic resets didn’t help, first make sure the monitor is powered on and set to the correct HDMI input before starting the laptop. If it still shows no signal, check Windows Display Settings to see whether the second display is detected and try choosing “Extend” or “Detect.” It’s also worth testing a different HDMI cable or another display to determine whether the problem is the cable, monitor, or laptop port. The brightness slider may not affect an external monitor; many of them require brightness changes through the monitor’s physical buttons or menu.

I’ve already tried powering the laptop on with the monitor connected, but I’ll check the input selection and test another HDMI cable. I didn’t realize the brightness might need to be changed using the monitor’s own controls.
