I'm on the hunt for a lightweight Linux distribution that's as efficient as Chrome OS. My laptop is quite underpowered; it's a Vivobook 15 powered by a Celeron N4020 CPU, so I need something that can run smoothly without hogging resources.

Have you considered Puppy Linux? It’s specifically designed for older hardware and is really lightweight.

You might want to check out MX Linux. It’s known for being user-friendly and lightweight, so it could work well on your hardware.

Debian is another option. It can be set up to be quite light, especially if you go for a minimal install.

EndeavourOS or Debian with XFCE would be great choices. I used to run it on a laptop with a Pentium and 4GB of RAM and found it responsive. You might also want to look into Cachyos; they focus on optimizations for Intel chips.

MX Linux and Loc-OS are also good recommendations. Both are designed to make the most of limited resources.
