Seeking Advice on a New Build for Ryzen 9 9800X3D

Hey everyone! I've built several PCs before, but I'm looking for some validation and advice on my latest setup to make sure I get it right this time. I recently bought a Gigabyte 5080 SFF Windforce, and I've realized that for some games like Battlefield 6, my current CPU (a Ryzen 7 5800X) is quite a bottleneck. I'm planning to upgrade to a Ryzen 9 9800X3D because I've read that it runs cooler and is better for gaming compared to the 7800X3D. I've also got a liquid cooler—an NZXT X62—compatible with AM5 but I might need a $20 upgrade kit for it. I already have a Lian Li White Dynamic Mini chassis, and I'm aiming for an ATX or MATX motherboard. Here are my requirements:

- Must be ATX or MATX size
- Preferably white in color
- Needs SPDIF on the backplate because I have an audio setup using a splitter/repeater
- Maximum $250 for the mobo
- PCIe 5.0 slot needed for GPU
- At least one Gen 5 PCIe slot for a future SSD upgrade

So far, my build list includes:
- ASUS ROG STRIX B850-G GAMING WIFI
- Ryzen 9 9800X3D
- Gigabyte 5080 (already owned)
- NZXT X62 AIO with AM5 upgrade kit
- DDR5 2x16 GB (need help on speeds)
- SF1000 PSU (already owned)

I would love any feedback or suggestions you might have. Thanks in advance!

Definitely go for the 2x16 GB at 6000MHz CL30 for your RAM; that's the sweet spot for the new AM5 chips. Just be cautious about availability since prices are a bit high right now! Also, I totally get your SPDIF requirement; it does limit your choices quite a bit.

For RAM, you should aim for 2x16 GB with a speed of 6000MHz CL30. That’s a good fit for the AM5 CPUs. Good luck finding reasonably priced RAM though; prices have risen recently due to demand from AI advancements! Also, don't forget to filter motherboards by color and features, especially focusing on VRMs as they tend to perform similarly across different models.
