Hey everyone! I'm on the hunt for the BIOS update for the HP ML350 G6 (version 2018.05.21), specifically the file named 'cp036553.exe'. I've done a ton of research, but it seems that HP has locked away this update, making it super hard to access. This BIOS update not only addresses some of the significant Intel processor vulnerabilities but also helps take full advantage of the XEON processors that are pretty affordable now.
I've even spent hours on the phone with HPE customer support, but no luck getting the file for free. The only way to access the update seems to be through a paid contract, which I don't have.
I had another ML350 G6 where I successfully applied this update back in 2018, but I lost the file for my second unit. If anyone has the cp036553.exe file lying around, I would be really grateful if you could share it with me. I promise I'll verify it with the SHA-256 checksum from HPE! Thanks a ton for any help!

Honestly, I’m surprised you’re still using the ML350 G6. It’s nearly two decades old! Why not upgrade to something more efficient? I get that you’ve made a lot of tweaks to it, but newer tech is way better in terms of power consumption and performance. Just a thought!
I feel you on the frustrations with older hardware! But honestly, have you checked out vintage server communities? They might have members who can help you out, especially for hard-to-find files like that BIOS update.
I appreciate the concern, but I've customized this server quite a bit to meet my needs and it works great for my setup. I'm looking for that update for specific reasons!
