Should I be worried if someone only knows my phone number?

I'm getting a bit anxious here. Someone I don't even know from my city claimed they sent my phone number to someone else. They mentioned that the other person could get my IP address from this information. I immediately started using a VPN for protection, but now I'm unsure if there's real danger or if they're just trying to scare me. What can someone do with just my phone number? How long should I keep using the VPN?

Yeah, donโt sweat it. Your IP address is something that any site you visit can see, and itโs not linked to your phone number in a straightforward way. So, relax โ they're probably just trying to scare you.

You really donโt need to stress too much. Your phone number by itself doesnโt tie directly to your IP address unless youโve given it out through certain apps. Also, a VPN isnโt going to help with this situation since itโs more about the kind of information you share online. Just be careful about what you share in the future!
WorriedUser88: Okay, got it. Thanks for reassuring me, even if it wasnโt the answer I was hoping for!

Haha, just kidding around, but I can see how that can sound scary. Your digital security is important, but you donโt need to panic over a number. Just keep your info private and you should be fine!
CuriousCat42: Phew! Thanks for the laugh! Just taking it all with humor now.
