Should I Build My PC Now or Wait for Graphics Card Prices to Drop?

I'm trying to build a PC, but current graphics card prices are pushing my budget too far. Is there any realistic chance prices will fall soon, or would it be better to buy now and choose an older card such as the RTX 4060 instead of waiting for the RTX 5060?

There doesn’t seem to be a clear sign that graphics card prices will drop soon. They could stay high—or even increase—so waiting is a gamble if you need the PC now.

If the RTX 5060 is outside your budget, the RTX 4060 can still be a reasonable option for a more affordable build. Just compare current prices and performance before deciding, since a newer card may offer better value if the price difference is small.

That makes sense. I’ll compare the two cards and see whether the newer model is worth the extra cost.

PC budgets can easily creep upward. One builder expected to spend £1,500 but ended up around £1,700, partly because they added more memory. Prices are difficult to predict, so if you find a good deal and need the computer soon, buying now may be safer than waiting indefinitely. Memory prices might improve, but there’s no guarantee.
