Should I Build or Buy a Prebuilt PC for Gaming on a Budget?

I'm looking for my first gaming PC primarily for playing GTA V, Fivem, Roblox, and doing some work on Blender. My budget is $450 max, and I'm wondering if I should go for a prebuilt system or try building one myself. I prefer AMD components, but I'm open to other options if needed. Any advice on what would work best for my needs?

Honestly, for $450, you might want to consider getting a used console like a PS5 instead. But if you stick with building a PC, be prepared to look at older or used parts to stay within budget. Just remember, low-cost graphics cards often don't perform well for gaming.

If you're thinking about building, I've compiled a parts list that could fit your budget. You’ll likely need to settle for a budget graphics card or take some risks with used parts. The Ryzen 5 3600 and a refurbished Radeon RX 6600 would work nicely for GTA V, but make sure to check how well it runs for Blender tasks.

Used components are definitely your friend here. If you're okay with it, look into getting a used Dell workstation paired with a mid-range GPU like the RTX 2060. It may not be flashy, but it'll give you solid performance without breaking the bank.

Building your own PC usually gives you better value for money, plus it’s a great learning experience for future upgrades. You get to choose parts that fit your needs and can potentially save some cash in the long run.

Building on a super tight budget requires savvy shopping. I found that you can score decent parts used, like a Ryzen 5 for about $50 and a basic motherboard for around $45. Don't forget a good PSU; you want it reliable, so I suggest sticking with new if you can. A used GPU will be your biggest expense, but definitely check out options like the RX 6600.
