Should I buy a 2080 Ti for $225 or look for another GPU?

I found a listing for a 2080 Ti priced at $225 on Facebook Marketplace, and I'm thinking about negotiating for a lower price. I'm curious if there are better graphics cards available in a similar price range—I'm willing to spend up to $250. I typically game at 1080p, with some occasional 4K for older titles on my TV, and I also do some VR gaming. Given that I'm upgrading from an RTX 3050 with 8GB, I imagine most options would be a significant upgrade for me.

The 2080 Ti is pretty comparable to the 5060 or 3070, plus it has 11GB of VRAM, which is a nice advantage. At $225, it's a solid buy, especially if you manage to haggle down a bit further!

If you buy the 2080 Ti, be prepared to repaste it, especially since it's from Facebook Marketplace. It's not too tough if you're okay with a little DIY, but make sure you're comfortable doing that.

Just a heads up, buying used means you won't get a warranty, and there's a risk of the card dying unexpectedly. However, there are some comparable new cards available for about the same price right now, especially with upcoming sales.
ValueSeeker77: If you're looking for an upgrade in that price range, consider the 9060 XT 8GB version for around $260, or the newer 6600 XT at $200. But honestly, a 2080 Ti for $225 still seems like a steal!

On paper, the 2080 Ti looks great, but keep in mind these cards are somewhat aged, so there’s a higher chance of something going wrong. Just something to think about before you buy!
