Should I Buy a Microcenter Bundle for Future Upgrades?

I've got an AM4 setup with a 5700X3D processor and 32 GB of RAM that I upgraded last year. I'm not looking to switch to AM5 just yet, but I noticed that my local Micro Center has a bundle deal with a 7800X3D CPU, a B650E motherboard, and 32GB of Crucial DDR5 RAM for $650. Given the current situation with RAM pricing, should I buy this bundle and hold onto it until I'm ready to upgrade?

The 5700X3D is still a fantastic chip for gaming and should be good for a few more years. It might be better to wait for the next AM6 generation to come out before you consider an upgrade. If you have some spare cash, maybe focus on upgrading your GPU, storage, or cooling instead.

It might be worth it considering how unpredictable RAM and CPU prices are. The 7800X3D usually runs for $400+, so you're essentially getting the motherboard and RAM for $250. Just make sure you have a safe place to store it and check Microcenter's return policy in case better deals pop up.

I'd say get the bundle and send me your 5700X3D! That would solve your dilemma nicely.

Holding onto the 5700X3D might not be the best move if you can sell it for a decent profit now. It's not like you need to upgrade right away; AM4 x3D CPUs are still performing well.

Definitely go for it! You could easily sell your 5700X3D for around $350-$400, and with your old DDR4 RAM and motherboard, you'd end up upgrading for just about $100. If the hassle isn't worth it for you, then sticking with your current setup isn't a bad choice either.
