Hey everyone! I'm trying to figure out whether I should go ahead and buy a new GPU right now or hold off for a potential price drop after the release of the RTX 5090. I've been eyeing the RTX 4070 Ti but I'm not sure if it's the right time to make a purchase. What are your thoughts on the current market and the pricing trends?

Just so you know, the RTX 5090 actually released a few months back and prices haven't really dropped since then. It's tough to find the 4000 series brand new since they stopped production late last year.
Honestly, right now isn't a great time for GPU purchases. Nvidia tends to keep prices high to maintain demand since they dominate the market. The RTX 4090 is still going for way over MSRP, and scalpers are driving the prices up on the 5090 as well. You might want to keep an eye on the 5070 Ti instead; it could be a better option if you're looking for something more affordable without sacrificing too much performance.
That makes sense! I think I’ll wait for the 5070 Ti since it seems like a solid alternative.
If you can find a solid deal on the 5070 Ti, I’d say go for it! Just to let you know, the most recent prices for both the 5070 Ti and comparable alternatives like the RX 9070 XT are pretty stable but still around $800. It's always a gamble with GPUs given the market fluctuations.
I get that! I’m still trying to snag a 5090 for my build, but it's been impossible.
