Should I buy my new PC parts now or wait for Black Friday and Cyber Monday?

I'm in the US and planning a new PC build, but I'm unsure when to purchase the parts. I'm considering buying the RAM now and waiting for Black Friday or Cyber Monday for the rest, though I don't know how substantial component discounts usually are. RAM and GPU prices seem to be rising, while other parts may have a better chance of receiving holiday discounts. Should I buy everything now, wait for seasonal sales, or purchase the parts individually as good prices appear?

The list can likely be reduced in cost without sacrificing performance. Consider a less expensive equivalent CPU cooler, non-RGB memory, a good-value case with strong airflow, and a quality 850W power supply. A better-value motherboard or retailer bundle could also save money, but verify the exact RAM pricing because unusually high listings are worth double-checking.

MellowCedar42: Thanks a bunch! Iโ€™ll compare the component prices and look into bundle options before ordering.

Thereโ€™s no guaranteed best date. Black Friday and Cyber Monday can bring worthwhile deals, but popular GPUs and RAM may stay expensive or even increase in price. Buy parts when you find a genuinely good price, especially the GPU and memory, and donโ€™t assume a holiday sale will beat todayโ€™s price.

A local computer retailer may have CPU, motherboard, RAM, and power-supply bundles that beat individual online prices. Even if the nearest store is several hours away, check whether it offers shipping or bundle pricing. The savings can be significant.

The current market is unpredictable, so waiting specifically for Cyber Monday is a gamble. If you need the computer soon, buy the parts you can afford now, or stagger purchases only when the retailer has a reasonable return window. Also make sure every part is compatible before buying too far in advance.

If you can wait, watch prices during the week before and after Black Friday. Sales are more likely on monitors, cases, power supplies, and peripherals than on high-demand GPUs or RAM. Use price history rather than trusting the advertised discount.
