I'm looking to upgrade my RAM, and I noticed that in my area, the price for 48GB (2x24GB) of Corsair Vengeance RAM at 6000MHz 36CL is the same as for 32GB (2x16GB) at the same speed and latency. While I probably won't actually need more than 32GB, it seems like a no-brainer to go for the 48GB at the same price. However, I've heard some concerns that having too much RAM can actually slow down performance compared to just sticking with 32GB. Can anyone shed light on whether there's any downside to going for the extra RAM in this situation?

If both options are the same price and have the same performance specifications, definitely go for the 48GB! It's more RAM for the same cost, so why not get more? This should be an easy decision!
I agree, go for the 2x24GB option without a doubt! There’s really no good reason to pick less if you’re paying the same. Just be aware of the potential for different configurations, though, as some believe that having too much RAM can sometimes affect speed—like if the system doesn’t utilize it efficiently, but that’s pretty rare. Overall, grab the extra RAM!
