Should I Choose a 1080p or 1440p Monitor for Gaming?

I'm trying to decide between two monitors. One is a 27" 1440p model with a 320Hz refresh rate, and the other is a 24" 1080p model with a super high 420Hz refresh rate. They're both the same price. Currently, I have a 144Hz monitor, and I mainly play Valorant in a 4:3 resolution of 1280x960 as well as some single-player games. Any advice on which monitor would be better for my setup?

I'd recommend going for the 1440p monitor. The increase in resolution is really noticeable, especially compared to the upgrade in refresh rate from 320Hz to 420Hz. If you want a more immersive gaming experience, 1440p is the way to go!

Totally agree! It’s all about the sharpness when gaming. Plus, you might not even hit that 420Hz limit with all games.

Yeah, 1440p should be the target for monitors very soon. Don’t chase the higher Hz if it means sacrificing resolution.

1440p all the way! It’s like a standard these days, and with gaming graphics getting better, you’ll want that extra clarity.

Honestly, moving to 1440p from 1080p is much more impactful than just having a higher refresh rate. Go for the resolution!
