I'm building a gaming PC with an AMD Ryzen 5 8400F and an RTX 5070. Since I mainly use the computer for gaming, would a 1440p monitor or a 4K monitor be the better match for this hardware? I'm also curious whether 4K would be worthwhile with this setup in its current configuration.

1440p is the safer all-around choice, especially for newer games. Older or less demanding games can run nicely at 4K, but demanding modern titles may require compromises that reduce image quality or performance. A 1440p high-refresh-rate monitor should give you a smoother gaming experience.
For this specific hardware, I’d go with 1440p. A good 120Hz or 144Hz display is usually more affordable, and the RTX 5070 should handle modern games at higher settings much more comfortably. At 4K, you’d likely need to lower settings or rely heavily on upscaling to maintain high frame rates.
Would 4K still be worth considering with the PC in its current configuration?

That makes sense. I mainly play games, so I’m leaning toward 1440p now.
