Hey everyone! I'm putting together a new PC mainly for 3D animation and environments using Blender, but I also want to play some games on it. My setup includes an RTX 5080, an i9 12900KS, and 64GB of RAM. I'm a bit torn on which monitor to buy. I've heard that while a 4K monitor can offer stunning visual quality, it might negatively impact my GPU performance. What do you think? Is it worth going for 4K, or should I stick with 1440p for better gaming performance?

Honestly, 4K monitors feel a bit elitist for desk use. I think 1440p is great and avoids that annoying screen door effect you get at lower resolutions. If you're going for the best performance while gaming, I'd recommend a 1440p OLED monitor. Just make sure not to mix it with non-OLED monitors, or you'll lose your mind!

I get what you're saying, but for games with DLSS, many players find that 4K can look really sharp. You can get good frames while enjoying the visuals.
