I'm deciding between two LG UltraGear gaming monitors. Both use IPS panels and run at 1920×1080, but one is 24 inches and the other is 27 inches. The price difference is only $33. Some people have suggested buying the 24-inch model now and upgrading later to a larger, higher-resolution display. Is the 27-inch model still worth considering, or is 24 inches a better match for 1080p gaming?

I’d stick with 24 inches for a high-refresh-rate 1080p gaming setup, especially for competitive games. It’s easier to see the whole screen without moving your eyes much. A 27-inch display makes more sense at 1440p, while 32 inches or larger is better suited to 4K.
For 1080p, 24 inches is generally the safer choice because the higher pixel density makes the image look sharper. A 27-inch 1080p screen can look noticeably coarse, especially when sitting close to your desk. Since viewing distance and personal preference matter, compare both sizes in person if possible.
It really comes down to how far you sit from the screen and how much you value size versus sharpness. Visit a store or use a display-size comparison tool if you can. With only a $33 difference, I’d choose based on viewing comfort rather than price, but 24 inches is the more balanced match for 1080p.
I use a 23-inch 1080p monitor alongside a 27-inch 1440p one, and I wouldn’t want a 27-inch screen at 1080p. The larger size is comfortable, but the pixels become easier to notice. If you prefer a bigger display and sit farther away, the 27-inch option can still work.
For me, 27 inches is the sweet spot, but I’d choose it at 1440p rather than 1080p.

That makes sense. I’ll try to compare them in person before deciding.
