Should I Choose a 4K Monitor or a 1440p OLED for My 9070 XT?

I'm trying to decide whether to get a 4K monitor or a 1440p OLED for my new build, both under $500 and with a refresh rate of 240Hz. I'm curious about how my 9070 XT will handle 4K gaming—specifically, how does 4K with FSR set to Balanced and lower settings compare to 1440p with higher settings using Native or Quality FSR? I've been gaming on a 1080p 60Hz IPS display, so this will be my first experience with a higher resolution and refresh rate. I generally prioritize visual quality, and since all OLEDs are 240Hz, there's no cost incentive to go lower. I mostly play shooter games but want to dive into more single-player titles now that my PC is upgraded. How noticeable is the difference in clarity between these resolutions? Is it worth opting for 4K at medium/high settings with FSR over 1440p at high/max settings? If the price difference is minimal, what would you recommend?

Honestly, I think 1440p is the sweet spot. You'd likely have a better overall experience with a 1440p OLED—it's a great balance between clarity and performance, especially if you're into fast-paced shooters.

As a 9070 XT owner, I definitely recommend sticking to 1440p. It's a solid choice for both single-player and competitive games. 4K might look amazing, but the performance drop can be significant, and you won't notice a huge difference for general gaming.

I've got a 32" 4K QD-OLED paired with my 9070 XT, and it's fantastic. Coming from a 27" 1440p IPS, I can't go back. 4K is so much crisper, and immersion is unbeatable at that size. Just a heads up about 27" 1440p OLEDs though—if you're sensitive to text clarity, you might notice some issues that don't occur at 4K due to higher pixel density.

Considering a 27-inch display even at 4K, do you think that's worth it? And how's the visual difference between high/medium settings at 4K with FSR compared to 1440p at max settings? Also, what frame rates are you getting on your setup?
