I'm trying to decide between the AMD Ryzen 5 9600x and the Ryzen 5 7600x for my PC build (link included). They're pretty close in price, about a $10 difference. Also, what does the BIOS warning mean? Do I just need to update it to the latest version?

Is updating the BIOS a tricky process? This is my first PC build, so I’m a bit nervous. Do I just download the update onto a USB from my laptop and then transfer it to the PC?
Both CPUs are suitable for your build, but it really comes down to whether that $10 matters to you. If you're looking to save a bit, the 7600x is a solid choice. Just remember that the 7600x might be more future-proof in the long run!
Given that you’re using an ASRock motherboard, I'd recommend the 7600x even though the 9600x has better specs. Just make sure to update your BIOS to version 3.40 if you go for the 9600x since ASRock has had some issues with Ryzen 9000 CPUs lately. If you want to switch motherboards, consider options like the Gigabyte B650m Gaming Plus WiFi or the MSI Pro B650m-A WiFi.
