I'm setting up a motherboard with AMD's B850 chipset and want to install the correct chipset drivers. Should I download them directly from AMD, or use the drivers listed on the motherboard manufacturer's support page?

Windows Update can cover some basics, but installing the AMD chipset package directly is a good idea for the latest power-management and platform drivers. It can also detect the chipset automatically.

For chipset drivers, AMDโ€™s support page is usually the best source because it typically offers the most current package. The motherboard manufacturerโ€™s version is also valid, but it may not be updated as often.

Check both pages and use the newer compatible version. The manufacturerโ€™s support page is still the right place for motherboard-specific drivers such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, audio, and sometimes BIOS updates.
