I'm setting up a motherboard with AMD's B850 chipset and want to install the correct chipset drivers. Should I download them directly from AMD, or use the support page for the motherboard manufacturer, such as ASUS or ASRock?

For chipset drivers, AMD’s support page is generally the best source because the motherboard manufacturer usually gets those packages from AMD anyway. AMD’s installer can also detect the platform and install the appropriate drivers.

You can compare both download pages and use whichever package is newer. The manufacturer’s support page is still useful for board-specific software and drivers, especially Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth, while chipset drivers usually come directly from AMD.

Windows Update and AMD’s chipset installer are normally enough for the chipset itself. Don’t forget to check the motherboard manufacturer’s page for BIOS updates and any components that are specific to the board.
