Should I focus on Machine Learning or learn the MERN stack?

I'm in my third year of B.Tech specializing in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. I already have a good grasp of Java, Python, Data Structures and Algorithms, and MySQL. However, I'm feeling a bit lost about my next step. Most of my friends are diving into the MERN stack, which includes JavaScript, React, Node, and MongoDB. On the flip side, an online friend is encouraging me to deepen my knowledge in Machine Learning using Python. Considering my major, which path should I take? Would focusing on Machine Learning be more advantageous for internships and job placements? I'm also wondering which option might be better for my long-term career. I'm struggling with making this decision!

I’d recommend focusing on Machine Learning, especially since that's your major. Employers look for specialized skills in AIML, and having strong ML knowledge can really set you apart. If you decide to learn the MERN stack later, you’ll still have plenty of time to pick it up since it often requires a different skill set.

Exactly! ML is a hot field, but web development could also be a good side skill to have. There's no harm in learning the basics of both to keep your options open.

It's great that you have a solid foundation already! If you're aiming for a career closely tied to AI and ML, it might make sense to dive deeper into Machine Learning. The demand for ML skills is rising, and it could open up some exciting opportunities. However, the MERN stack is also very popular, especially for web development roles. If you're aiming for a broader range of internships, learning the MERN stack could give you a versatile skill set.

Totally agree! It really depends on where you see yourself in a few years. Both paths have their merits, so maybe try a bit of both initially?
