Should I Learn React or Angular First as a JavaScript and TypeScript Developer?

I've learned JavaScript and TypeScript and want to continue toward becoming a full-stack .NET developer. For learning front-end frameworks, would it make more sense to study React first and then Angular, or Angular first and then React? I'm interested in understanding both, but I'd like to start with the one that provides the smoother learning path.

You can learn them in either order, but Iโ€™d start with React. It usually feels lighter because you begin with components and add the rest as needed. Angular includes more built-in concepts, such as dependency injection and RxJS, which can make the initial learning curve steeper.

Before committing to both, think about why you need them. They use different approaches, and becoming comfortable with one may be more valuable than trying to master both immediately. For a full-stack .NET goal, choose based on the kinds of jobs or projects you want to pursue, then add the other framework later if it becomes useful.

If your JavaScript and TypeScript fundamentals are solid, React is probably the easier first step. Once youโ€™ve worked through state management and the surrounding ecosystem, Angularโ€™s more structured approach may be easier to appreciate. After React, moving to Angular can give you experience with a more opinionated framework.
