A single 32GB stick may be operating in single-channel mode, which can reduce performance in some games and workloads. That said, changing the RAM may not automatically fix the drops unless single-channel memory is actually the cause.
I’d switch to a matched 2x16GB kit if you have the option, but first confirm what your current memory is doing. Check Task Manager or HWiNFO while the slowdown happens to see whether RAM usage is maxing out. Also compare the kit’s speed and latency, since timings such as CL can affect performance.
