Should I Replace the Battery in My CyberPower UPS or Is It Time for a New Unit?

I have a CyberPower AVRG750U UPS that's started shutting off randomly without any power interruptions. Even when nothing is plugged in, it still powers down after a few hours. It's about 8 years old, so the battery is likely dying, but how can I tell if that's the issue? I want to avoid replacing the battery only to find out that the entire unit is faulty. Any advice would be appreciated!

From what you’re describing, it sounds like the battery isn't passing the voltage check. Definitely a good sign to look into a battery replacement.

New batteries usually cost about $50-60 for a good name brand or even less for generic ones. Just make sure you pick a high rate battery designed for UPS systems to prevent any short power drops, which could harm your hardware.

I’d recommend replacing the battery. If it’s around 8 years old, it’s likely past its prime. A new battery is generally easy to find and can save you from buying a whole new UPS.
