Should I Stick with GoDaddy or Switch to Cloudflare for Domain Registration?

Hey everyone! I'm the IT manager at a public organization, and we've been having some serious issues with our domain registration. Recently, we faced extended downtime because our accounting department forgot to renew the domain. GoDaddy is our current registrar, and I've found their response time unsatisfactory—they didn't even send us any reminders to renew. I'm considering moving our domain to Cloudflare, which offers some features that GoDaddy doesn't, like early renewal notifications. However, I'm concerned that with the free plan at Cloudflare, we may lose access to human support for billing and tech issues. Given that the organization is tight on budget, I'm supposed to use my best judgment for what to do next. Should I stay with GoDaddy and just set calendar reminders for renewals, or make the switch to Cloudflare for better service? I'd also love to hear what tools or applications you use at work to track services and subscriptions. Thanks!

I've had a decent experience with GoDaddy personally, even though they're pricier. But I definitely agree—renewal notices are crucial. Make sure your payment methods are current and you should be fine.

I get that! But we're in a bit of a bind because they didn’t notify us when the card got messed up. What kind of extra features does Cloudflare offer?
