I'm 23 years old and graduated with a BCA. After spending about a year unemployed, I learned some cloud basics, Linux, networking, and completed a CCNA course. I then landed an IT Admin internship at a small company where I was basically the first IT person. Over the last six months, I've set up Snipe-IT for asset management, migrated to Microsoft 365, handled user onboarding, set up a FortiGate firewall, configured networking, and provided daily user support. I recently implemented ManageEngine Endpoint Central for device management. I've done all this with minimal guidance.
Initially, I planned to use this role to transition into a cloud position, but now I feel stuck. I'm wondering if my experience with MS Entra ID, M365, and IT operations has long-term value. If I keep going down the IT admin path, can I realistically expect to earn around ₹60-70k a month in Pune in the next 3-4 years? What should I focus on to achieve that? Alternatively, should I switch to focus on cloud technologies like AWS or Azure? Also, my internship ended recently, but I haven't received an official offer letter. Considering my responsibilities, is it reasonable to expect a salary of ₹25k or more at this stage? I'm conflicted about whether to deepen my systems/admin and cloud skills here or make a move now.

Given your initiatives and curiosity, I don’t think you should switch jobs just yet. Instead, focus on getting some cloud certifications and delve deeper into Linux infrastructure. The job market is tough right now, so unless you have a solid long-term opportunity lined up, staying put seems wise.
With everything you've accomplished in just six months, you definitely deserve a raise and some recognition! People at my job are getting paid top dollar for doing less than you. Being a sysadmin can lead to a solid career, and if you're great at problem-solving, you can really excel in the long run.

I can't speak for salaries in India, but I think it's crucial to gain more experience, especially in a supportive environment. Don’t quit, as you've already built a lot of experience. Consider working towards Azure or AWS certifications for future opportunities, and aim to move to a bigger company later where you can learn from others.
You seem a bit uncertain about the importance of roles in IT infrastructure. Every company needs to manage data centers and virtualization. Don’t underestimate these roles! I suggest switching jobs to gain more exposure and understand the industry better.
