Should I upgrade from a 3070 Ti to a 3080 or wait for newer options?

I'm considering upgrading my graphics card from a Gigabyte RTX 3070 Ti Gaming OC to an RTX 3080. The 3080 costs around $370, and I plan to sell my current GPU for about $260-$290. I primarily play competitive games at 1440p, and I want to know if the temperature differences between these two cards are significant enough to warrant the upgrade. My potential models are either the MSI Ventus 3X or Gigabyte 3X. I live in the Middle East, and I've also been thinking about the possibility of the RTX 5070, as the price difference isn't that great at $130 more compared to the 3080.

Nope, upgrading to a 3080 doesn’t seem worth it. There are better options out there that offer more performance for similar or slightly higher prices, like the 5070 Ti. I think it makes more sense to wait for that or even consider looking into a 3090 if the prices are right.

Honestly, I'd skip the 3080 and look at the new 5070 Ti instead. You'll be getting a newer architecture, which is often more efficient. Plus, the 5070 Ti seems like a better deal for your gaming needs.

For that price, I’d suggest looking at the 9060 XT instead. It's more power efficient, and you could save some money. Just be aware that you might miss out on some NVIDIA features, but the 9060 XT is solid for your needs.

FutureTechFan: Yeah, but I've heard those cards can crash a lot. If you're into AI or deep learning, you may want to stick with NVIDIA for now.
