Hey everyone! I bought a 5700XT back in 2020, and it's starting to show its age for newer games. I can still play most games at medium or low settings on 1440p and hit around 60fps, but titles like Helldivers and Oblivion are pushing it. I'm considering upgrading, and I've looked at the 9070XT but it's quite pricey. I just noticed the 9060XT with 16GB is out, and I'm intrigued by its price if it's a solid upgrade. So, I'm reaching out to see if the 9060XT is really a good step up from the 5700XT, or if it's wiser to save for the 5700Ti when it's at MSRP. Or perhaps there's another card I should keep an eye on? I don't necessarily need ultra settings but want something that can run games smoothly and last a few more years. I'm on AM4 and currently have a 5700X3D. Thanks for any advice!

The 9060XT is roughly on par with an RX 6800 or RX 7700, though it might be a tad worse in some cases. I find that for my RX 6800 at 3440x1440p, I only need a bit more performance occasionally, and FSR 4 quality gives me a nice boost in supported games over what the 6800 would deliver at native.
The 9060XT is a solid upgrade over the 5700XT for sure, but keep in mind that the 5700Ti really doubles the performance of the 9060XT. The 9060XT is great for 1440p gaming, while the 5700Ti shines at 4K.
Ultimately, it's up to you! The 5700Ti tends to be more expensive—often more than double the price of the 9060XT. I own both, and honestly, the value of the 9060XT is impressive; I think I prefer it more for the bang for your buck.
Honestly, I’d say go for the 9070XT if you can snag it at MSRP. If it hits around $650, that's the sweet spot! But with 5070Ti prices being decent recently and the 4070XT around $720, I’d pause on the 9070XT until there's a good deal.
Got it! But how much better is the 9060XT compared to the 5700XT? If it's not a significant upgrade, I’d rather save my cash. But if it’s around 50% faster, I’d jump on the 9060XT!
