Should I Upgrade from a 6700 XT to a 5070?

I recently built a new PC, upgrading from an FX 8350 and RX 570 to an R5 7600x with a 6700 XT and 32 GB of RAM. I've been gaming at 1080p and getting really high frame rates across all my games. I'm planning to invest in a 1440p OLED monitor this summer, but I'm not very interested in the 9070 XT due to its price. I'm curious about moving to the 5070 since it seems good for ray tracing, but I'm also aware that the 12 GB VRAM might limit me in the future. Given that I'm comfortable with high graphics settings, I'm wondering if upgrading my graphics card now is worth it or if I should wait.

Being in a similar boat, I almost upgraded this year but ended up snagging a 9070 XT instead. If you stick with the 6700 XT, it might hold up for a while, but if you want that ray tracing experience, you may find the 5070 worth considering, even with its 12 GB limit. Just keep your options open and watch the market.

If you're satisfied with your current performance, there's no urgent need to upgrade. The 6700 XT is still solid for 1080p gaming. Just remember the current state of hardwareโ€”it's pricey and has some issues. Waiting 6-12 months could lead to better prices and options when you decide to upgrade.

Your current build seems fine for 1440p at the moment. Iโ€™d wait for GPU prices to drop before upgrading. The 5070 is good, but it's a bit overpriced right now.

If you can hold onto your 6700 XT for a bit longer, that could be a wise move, especially until the GPU market stabilizes. Itโ€™s still performing well for casual gaming, so patience might pay off.

Honestly, your setup is great for 1080p and should handle most 1440p games just fine. I suggest waiting until you really need a new card since prices might get better in the future.
