I'm contemplating whether to upgrade my graphics card from a 16GB 7600 XT to either a 16GB 5070 Ti or a 5080. My current card performs decently, so I'm struggling to justify the expense. Both new options have the same amount of VRAM, which makes me wonder how much of a performance boost I'd actually get. My CPU is a 7600X, and I really want to enhance my gaming experience. What do you think—should I go through with this upgrade?

Both the 5070 Ti and 5080 are substantial improvements over your current card. Plus, you'd gain access to all the amazing Nvidia software and features that come with the upgrade.
Even though both cards have the same VRAM, the performance difference is significant! The 5070 Ti is about 235% faster than the 7600 XT. You might want to consider upgrading your monitor too. Also, don't overlook the 9070 XT; it's very close in performance to the 5070 Ti and usually priced more competitively. AMD really did well with their 9000 series GPUs.
I’ve checked and the 9070 is still priced similarly to the 5070 Ti in my area, so jumping to the 5070 Ti makes more sense to me now. I didn’t realize the performance gap was that large! Thanks for shedding some light on this!
Upgrading will make a huge difference! Just check out some benchmarks on YouTube. If you really want the performance boost and can afford it, definitely consider waiting for Black Friday to snag a new GPU. You might find a good deal then!
Nvidia has the 5080 Founders Edition available for $999 plus tax right now. Do you think it would be cheaper on Black Friday? I'm not too experienced with this, so just curious!
I've heard that it might not be worth waiting since the 5000 series supers might not get released anytime soon. Newegg has already locked some cards at MSRP for Black Friday. But for sure, it's worth upgrading—I've just switched to a 9070 XT from a 4070 and the difference is fantastic!
Is it worth it to you personally? I would say yes! However, I’d recommend looking into the 9070 XT as well. I’m not too impressed with the 5070 Ti I used at work; it felt pretty underwhelming.
Would you still pick the 9070 over the 5080 FE? I've seen the 9070s priced similarly to 5070Tis, while the 5080 FE is $999 excluding tax. I feel like both cards having 16GB of VRAM might minimize the upgrade impact compared to moving from a card with only 8GB.

That was my line of thinking too, which is why I didn’t mention the 9070 XT in my original question!
