Should I Upgrade from a Ryzen 5600X to a 5700X3D or 5800X?

I'm currently rocking a Ryzen 5 5600X, paired with an RX 9070 (16GB), an MSI B550 Pro motherboard, and 32GB of DDR4 RAM. I'm gaming at 1440p and considering upgrading to either the Ryzen 5700X3D or the 5800X, but they're often out of stock. Is it worth upgrading from the 5600X, or should I hold out for AM5 when prices are better?

If you're not struggling with any games on your 5600X, it might not be worth the upgrade. The performance jump isn't huge unless you're playing CPU-heavy games. Maybe wait until AMD brings back more AM4 CPUs before you decide?

The 30%+ performance boost from upgrading to the 5800X3D or 5700X3D is definitely noticeable, especially with 1% lows in gaming. But if you can hang on to your 5600, you might want to do that until these chips are more readily available again.

If you're itching to upgrade and have the cash, go for it! The 5600 is still a decent CPU, but expect just minor gains if you jump to the 5800X.

Honestly, I wouldn't bother unless you're playing specific games that benefit from the extra cores or higher clock speeds. The 5600X is still quite capable for most gaming needs right now.

Yeah, I think I’ll stick with my 5600X for now and wait for an upgrade down the line.
