Should I upgrade from an RX 6500 XT to an RTX 4060 Ti or RTX 5050?

I'm currently using an RX 6500 XT and want to upgrade my PC. I have roughly a $500 budget and live in Türkiye. I'm considering an RTX 4060 Ti or RTX 5050, mainly because I'd like a newer-generation graphics card. Which option makes more sense for gaming? My motherboard is an MSI PRO B650M-P.

Your MSI PRO B650M-P motherboard should support either GPU through its PCIe x16 slot. The motherboard isn’t likely to be the deciding factor; check your power supply, case clearance, and whether the card’s price is reasonable. A 4060 Ti is the safer pick if it costs only a little more than the 5050.

Both cards would be a noticeable upgrade from an RX 6500 XT, but the best recommendation depends on your target resolution, graphics settings, and the prices you can actually find. For 1080p gaming, either can work, while higher resolutions or demanding settings may favor the faster card and a model with more VRAM.

My budget is around $500, and I’m shopping in Türkiye, so local pricing is probably going to decide it.

The RTX 4060 Ti is generally faster than the RTX 5050, so between those two it’s the stronger choice. That said, the exact price matters a lot, especially in Türkiye. Try comparing current prices against other cards rather than choosing only by generation. Also be cautious with the 8GB version of the 4060 Ti, since newer games can run into VRAM limits at higher settings.

Thanks. I know the 4060 Ti is faster, but I was leaning toward a newer-generation card and wasn’t sure whether that would be a better long-term choice.
