Should I Upgrade from My 3090 to the 5070 Ti or Wait for the 6000 Series?

I'm currently using a 3090 and I'm aiming for high frame rates at 1080p. I'm wondering if the 5070 Ti would be a significant upgrade over my 3090, or if I should just hold out for the 6000 series instead.

If you’re not pushing beyond what the 3090 can handle, it’s best to stick with it for now. The performance jump just isn’t substantial enough to justify an upgrade right away.

If you're not experiencing problems with your 3090, you might want to hold off on upgrading. While the 5070 Ti would be an upgrade, the 3090 is still a powerful card and should serve you well for a couple more years. It might be better to wait for the Super models or the 6000 series to see what they offer.

Good point! I didn't think about how long the 3090 could still last.

For gaming at 1080p, even the 5070 Ti might be overkill unless you're on a higher-end CPU like the AMD x3d series. I'd recommend focusing on other upgrades first before switching your GPU.

Upgrading to the 5070 Ti is like a 30% boost, especially for raster performance and even more when it comes to ray tracing. However, if you can manage to wait, the 6000 series is likely to provide better value since it'll be a proper node shrink. That could mean better performance per watt.

Honestly, the 3090 is still super powerful. If you're hitting the frame rates you need, there's not much point in upgrading right now. Plus, 1080p is pretty easy for that card to handle!

Exactly, I think upgrading my monitor might be a better first step!
