Hey everyone! I'm thinking about upgrading my GPU to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti since I feel like my current RTX 3060 is getting a bit outdated with all the newer, more demanding games. Right now, I'm using an AMD Ryzen 5 5500 as my CPU. I want to know if my Ryzen 5 5500 will be good enough to handle the RTX 5070 Ti, or if I should consider upgrading both the CPU and GPU together. What do you all think?

What resolution are you gaming at?
You might not be maximizing the RTX 5070 Ti's potential with the Ryzen 5 5500, which could lead to some performance loss. If you can, consider upgrading to a 5700X or a 5800X later. An X3D version would be even better!
It should work for now, but keep an eye out to upgrade to a 5800XT down the line. If you can, look into the 5700X or 5800X as well when you’re ready for an upgrade!
Upgrading just the GPU is an option, but remember your Ryzen 5500 is on the weaker side for a desktop CPU. It won't let the RTX 5070 Ti perform at its best. For optimal performance, you should definitely look into getting a better CPU like the 5700X or 5800X.
It really comes down to your resolution and usage. I built a system with a mismatched setup (i5-11500 with a 4070 Super), but I play at 4K, so the GPU handles most work without any noticeable bottlenecks. Since your setup involves a newer gen CPU and a solid GPU, you should be fine for 1440p or even 4K!
Yes, I have a 2k res monitor!
