Should I upgrade my current PC or build a new one?

My current PC has an Intel i5-10400, GTX 1660 Super, 16 GB of DDR4 memory, 500 GB of storage, and a 500W power supply. It's a few years old, and I'm trying to decide whether it makes more sense to upgrade individual components or replace it with a completely new build. I have access to a Micro Center and a budget of about $1,500, with some flexibility of roughly $100–$200. What would be the best approach?

This system isn’t especially old, so you probably don’t need to replace everything. The biggest improvement would likely come from upgrading the graphics card. Depending on the card you choose, you may also need a stronger power supply. Your processor, memory, and storage can still be usable for a while.

Since you have access to Micro Center, check their current CPU and motherboard bundles. A new platform paired with a modern graphics card could fit your budget, but you may still be able to reuse parts such as the case and storage if they’re in good condition. The 500W power supply should be checked carefully before pairing it with a much faster GPU.
