I've had my PC built since 2020, featuring an i5-9400 and RTX 2060. I mostly play games like Kerbal Space Program and Minecraft, especially with hefty modpacks. Lately, I've started dipping my toes into video editing and streaming. Plus, I'm excited about the upcoming Kitten Space Agency, but unfortunately, the demo runs really poorly on my current setup. I'm contemplating an upgrade since I've heard good things about the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D and the RX 9070XT for their performance and pricing. I've put together a build for roughly $1700 and would love to hear your thoughts: Is this upgrade worth it for the price? Will it last another five years for my gaming and content creation needs?

Your build looks solid! You might be able to save a few bucks with an air cooler instead of the liquid one or considering a cheaper SSD option. If you have a Micro Center nearby, their prices for the 7800X3D and a B650 motherboard can be much more reasonable.
I’d say go for it now! We're likely to see GPU prices spike soon, similar to what happened during COVID. Also, the 7800X3D doesn’t necessarily require water cooling; it has pretty good efficiency. You might want to consider the 9800X3D if the price difference isn't a problem, as it performs better in multi-threaded tasks.
Definitely feeling the pressure to upgrade! Prices could go up, so I say do it.
Definitely upgrade now! Both GPU and RAM prices are expected to rise, and your current setup isn't cutting it anymore. Your proposed build looks great overall!
I’d recommend using an air cooler like the Thermalright dual tower and choosing RAM with EXPO at 6000MT/s CL30. If you don’t absolutely need the storage, you might skip on a 2TB drive. Now's a great time to upgrade, especially with projected price increases on GPUs and components.
Now is the right moment to upgrade. There aren't many parts that will go down in price, except possibly RAM. Just go for it!

What about the BIOS update for the 9800X3D? Should I get a more expensive motherboard for that?
