I'm replacing an inexpensive 27-inch LCD monitor that only runs at 75Hz and supports FreeSync over HDMI. My current system has a Ryzen 5 5600X, 32GB of DDR4 memory, and an RTX 3070 Ti with 8GB of VRAM. Because of limited desk space, I need to stay at or below 27 inches, and I'd like at least two HDMI ports plus DisplayPort. My budget is under €200.
I'm considering a 1440p display such as the LG 27GS60QC, but I'm unsure whether the RTX 3070 Ti's 8GB of VRAM will be a limitation at that resolution. Would I be better off choosing a 1080p model such as the LG 27G523B, or are there other monitors in this price range worth considering?

An RTX 3070 Ti is still very capable at 1440p. In newer or especially demanding games, you may need medium-to-high settings or features such as DLSS to stay around 60–80 FPS, but 8GB of VRAM shouldn’t prevent you from using 1440p. For general desktop work, the extra resolution will also provide noticeably more space and sharper text. I’d choose 1440p unless maximizing every graphics setting is more important to you.
That system pairs well with a high-refresh 1440p monitor. Similar setups can run many games around 100 FPS or more with sensible settings, and DLSS or FSR can help in demanding titles. Models such as the Gigabyte G27Q, newer GS27-series displays, or comparable 1440p monitors with roughly 165–170Hz refresh rates are worth checking if you can find one under €200. Just verify that the exact model has the required two HDMI ports and DisplayPort.
Good to know—I was worried the 8GB of VRAM put me in a much worse position. I’ll focus on finding a suitable 1440p panel within the budget.
That’s reassuring. I’m used to running games at maximum settings, but the sharper image and extra workspace are probably more useful to me than keeping every setting at Ultra.
