Hey everyone! I'm considering upgrading my PC's RAM from 16GB of DDR4 to 32GB of DDR5 because I'm starting to feel some bottlenecking with my current setup. I have an Intel i7-13700K and an RX 7800 XT, and I found a DDR5 memory kit for around 232 euros. While that price doesn't seem too bad, I'm wondering if it's worth it. Should I buy it now, or do you think prices might go down in the next 5-6 months? Also, I'll need a new motherboard for DDR5, so I'm weighing my options. Thanks for any help!

Go for it, but make sure you check out the seller. If the ratings are low, it could mean more trouble than it’s worth. You could get a decent deal soon, but right now looks like it’s not going to drop much in price, especially with the market shifting focus toward AI memory solutions.
I wouldn’t rush into DDR5 unless you really see benefits. The RX 7800 XT is decent, but it might not be the RAM causing your bottleneck. Focus on getting more RAM capacity first before investing a ton into DDR5 and a new board.
Honestly, unless you really need DDR5 for something specific, you might just want to increase your DDR4 to 32GB instead. It sounds like your real issue is that you're running out of memory capacity, not bandwidth. Upgrading to 32GB of DDR4 could solve your problem without the extra cost of a motherboard.
I’d say grab it now if you can! Prices are unlikely to drop significantly over the next several months, and you don't want to miss out. Just keep in mind to check the seller's ratings carefully; I’ve seen some sketchy vendors out there. As long as you're ready to return it if there's an issue, you should be good!
Good advice! I did the same recently and it paid off. Better to have the upgrade than miss a good deal.
I can’t stress this enough: buy the RAM immediately! The prices are only going to rise. You’ll thank yourself in the long run for getting it sooner rather than later!

Thanks for the tip! I think I’ll look for some used DDR4 sticks instead, sounds like a smart move.
